Junior Infants 2025

Introducing our fantastic new Junior Infants 2025 from our mainstream and ASD class 👏👏👏.
We are so proud of how well they are integrating into primary school life!! We have  baked rice Krispie buns, made Lego structures, learned lots of songs and rhymes as Gaeilge and Bearla and are learning all about our school and parish this week 💪.
Well done everyone 🥰🥰

ASD class visit to the Pumpkin Patch:

Science Week

We had another great week of Science experiments, investigations and discussions this year as we participated in our annual Science Week celebrations. Infants pretended to be doctors and nurses and investigated their bones and xrays, while other classes created their own experiments and tested out some well known scientific theories. The week finished off with 5th and 6th class hosting a science 'exhibition' morning, where classes participated in experiment stations making bubbles within bubbles, comparing slopes of different gradients, constructing floating plasticine boats, reaction testing, finger print testing and much more! A massive thanks to 5th and 6th class and Ms Gill who co-ordinates and leads our Science Week.

The best surprise ever!!🧯🚒🔥👨‍🚒

Our ASD class and infants- 2nd class had the biggest surprise visit today from our local fire brigade!!
They explained all the different elements of being a firefighter and gave us a brilliant tour of their fire engines, showed us their breathing apparatus, ladders, accident and emergency response equipment and even let us see some of their water equipment!! It was as good as seeing Santa for the younger kids!!🎅👨‍🚒
Massive thanks to Kyle and colleagues for making it so special for all classes. Gort Fire & Rescue

Show Tell & Try

Some nice examples of Show, tell and try with 3rd and 4th class showing and explaining the instructions of their christmas gifts!

The Restaurant!

Infants had a great week participating in this week's theme for integrated play: The Restaurant! See some of our chefs, waiters and customers.

Turoe Pet Farm!

Our ASD class had a great time visiting Santa in Turoe Pet Farm! They fed the animals, had a Christmas disco and came home with a present and a big smile on their faces!

Brideóg Dolls

Fifth and Sixth class had a great morning making Brideóg dolls with Paula Gallagher. Using wool and recycled materials, the class used their creative skills, while developing an awareness of using recycled materials in a sustainable, fun way.
It was a great way to appreciate our Irish Heritage and Culture.

See some fantastic work below! Thank you Paula, Gort Arts  and  Galway County Council for providing us with this workshop.
And don't mind our PJ's!! The workshop blended well with our Wellbeing Week!!🧘‍♀️

We want everyone in our school to feel safe and Happy.
